Armand Birk is a recent BMus graduate from the University of Alberta. Originally from Victoria, Armand’s initial experience as a musician was as a Bassist for Jazz and Folk bands. It wasn’t until he began his vocal studies with Dr. Laurier Fagnan at Campus Saint-Jean in 2014 that he found his love and passion for Classical Music. Armand has performed internationally as a chorister, and is now transitioning to a career in orchestral and choral conducting. In addition to his work with Les Chantamis, his most recent engagements are varied including positions with the UofA Symphony Orchestra, the UofA Opera Program, the Contempo New Music Ensemble, and most recently, an upcoming conducting internship with the Edmonton Youth Orchestra. Armand’s conducting teachers have included Petar Dundjerski, Dr. Leonard Ratzlaff and Dr. Angela Schroeder.
